Amigo's Cactus & Plants is a home based garden nursery, on Wiradjuri County in the Rvierina Region of NSW.
I’ve been growing cactus here for around 4 1/2 years now and this year, 2024, will be the 4th year running of making new hybrid seed and the biggest harvest yet.

We make hybrid cactus seed for growers who are keen to try growing something new and exciting and who love the satisfaction of growing a unique plant from a tiny seed.
We sometimes make “risky” crosses, no risk no reward, right? Sometimes making these kinds of risky crosses means that plants will grow variegated or with less vigour than some other crosses, it can be hard if to predict sometimes, although some plants become known to produce seed like this over time.
Our seeds are cleaned with the floating (less fertile) seeds separated three or four times at least, and sometimes even more. We won’t be testing every seed batch from the 23/24 season range, as we simply don’t have the space. The more risky crosses will be tested though.
Where seed packs are advertised as “30+” or “40+” etc, we pack our seed packs with at least 10% more seeds than advertised, and sometimes up to 30% or 40% more than advertised, depending on how many seeds we were able to harvest and successfully clean.
Where seed packs are advertised without a + symbol in the pack size then they may have an extra 1 or 2 seeds, when we advertise seeds for sale without the + that means they were very, very limited.
All that being said, our seeds are a natural product and while growing cactus from seed isn’t super hard, things can go wrong in growing setups from time to time, there’s a bunch of YouTube videos on the “takeaway tek”, we recommend you check them out as there’s some great resources out there to learn from.
We cannot provide a refund for seeds that have been sown, we cannot provide a refund for change of mind, we can provide a refund if the seeds arrive damaged or if we send the wrong ones. We package all our seeds in bubble wrap, so damage is highly unlikely and will more than likely be an issue with Australia Post if it does happen.
We aim to send out all orders within 3 business days of receiving them. All packages sent in Australia are sent with tracking and sent via Australia Post. Any overseas orders placed without tracking are at the buyers risk, along with any customs requirements. We can’t provide refunds for customs seizures. We cannot provide phytosanitary certification.
We aim to provide good value and prices that are affordable to all growers.
